Putting Runes/Insignas on Armor
I have been playing for about 6 months and realized long ago there is much to learn about this game. One thing that I'm hearing a lot of recently is when I want to try out a build, the person I am asking throws back the question of what is on my armor as far as runes and insignias. And what it is that I am trying to accomplish. My question is: How does one know what to put on their armor? I know that perfect salvage kits can undo without a problem, so would someone also have to constantly change out their runes and insignias?
Thanks. |

Yeah, you'd have to change out some runes/insignias for different builds, which is no big deal if you have the perfect salvage kit. Without that, the main problem here imo is the head gear. Many of the other runes/insignias will be the same across builds or can be replaced cheaply enough, but crafting new head armor for each attribute line you might want to try out is expensive, and I don't like wasting inventory or storage on a bunch of head armors. Even more so entire sets of armor. So what I have been doing is playing lots of Magni, which I think is a blast anyway, to get bison tokens and exchange them for crowns for each of my characters. They're like hero head armor in that the crown gives you a +1 to the attribute of the rune you put in it, so when you want to change builds you just have to change that rune.

Runes and insignias add bonuses to your stats and while they are not absolutely essential outside of PvP, they do help. Most people settle on something basic and generic on their armor pieces(like Survivor/Radiant insignias and Vitae/Attunement/Vigor/Minor Primary Attribute runes) that works with most builds and have multiple head pieces for whatever your current build is based around(like sword, axe and hammer for a war). |
